How do I find an on-campus job?

Below are the current on campus job opportunities. Aramark (Dining Services) hires independently from ACU and maintains a website for employment opportunities.

How do I find out about off-campus job opportunities?

Jobs like babysitting, housekeeping, lawn mowing, etc. are posted on the bulletin board in the Campus Center. Check ACU CareerLink for pre-professional off campus part-time opportunities as well as the local newspaper.

Office Assistant

Department: Upward Bound

Position: Office Assistant


  • Student must have well developed interpersonal skills and professional demeanor. 
  • Experience with office etiquette and disadvantaged student populations highly desired. 
  • Must be responsible and respectful team player. 
  • Should be an eager, quick learner with ability to be sensitive yet empowering while working with program staff and participant. 
  • Should be detail oriented with the ability to work in a fast paced, team oriented environment with a positive, encouraging attitude. 
  • Must possess the ability to be self-directed and to efficiently work unsupervised for periods of time. 
  • Advanced experience with Microsoft Suite, Mac environment and telephone etiquette highly desired.  

Position Description:

  • Maintain up-to-date documentation on program participants (e.g. attendance, participation credits, enter information into database, maintain participant hardcopy files, etc.). 
  • Assist with program office filing, inventory and electronic as well as hardcopy correspondence. 
  • Assist the program Director and staff with general program functioning.
  • Serve as point of contact for program office for the Abilene community by answering telephone calls and welcoming office visitors. 
  • Answer phone calls general questions regarding program and direct incoming calls to the appropriate program staff when needed. 
  • Maintain program office and work spaces to reflect a neat, professional and welcoming environment.

Preferred Availability

  • Tuesday 9 am -12:00 pm 
  • Monday - Thursday 1:00 pm - 5:30 pm
  • Friday 1:00 pm - 4 pm
